The Kalamata War Museum was inaugurated on June 10, 2006 by the then Deputy Minister of National Defense Ioannis Lambropoulos and is under the Administration of the IV ΜΠ.
Through its exhibits, it presents modern Greek history, from the National Revolution of 1821 to the Hellenic participation in the Korean War, as well as the contribution of the Greek Armed Forces to peace operations.
Apart from presenting the Greek History, the War Museum also aims to present the local history of Messinia. To this respect, a separate section of the Museum is the book of the Messinian Fallen heroes, where all the names of the Messinian dead who fell against the Nation’s struggles from 1897 to the Korean War are listed.
