On Sunday 18 May, the War Museum celebrates the International Museum Day with the theme “Museums and Societies in constant change”, with free admission to visitors and activities:
• Free guided tour of the Museum’s exhibition areas for adults (14:00, 19:30). Registration is at the entrance of the War Museum.
• Presentation of military vehicles with the participation of the Historic Vehicles Preservation Association.
• Presentation of uniforms and equipment by the Greek Historical Revival Group.
• Screenings of anniversary audiovisual material, at points in the exhibition areas.
• Interactive presentation through an interpretive exhibit (e-book) of key moments in the modern history of Greece, in the room “New Greek State, Macedonian Struggle” on the 1st floor.
• Interactive presentation on high-definition touch screens of the historical route of Alexander the Great (personal life, battles, sieges, founding of cities, cultural imprint of campaigns), in the “Alexandrian Times” room on the 1st floor.
• Interactive presentation (virtual reality devices and high-definition screen) of the battle and equipment of the ” ROUPEL ” forts, in the “Battle of the Forts” room on the 1st floor.
• Interactive presentation (virtual reality devices and high-definition screens) in the exhibition of physical and digital 3D exhibits entitled “Journey to Freedom”.
• Museum and Mystery: Hidden Treasure Game for children 12 years old accompanied by one (1) parent (12:00-14:00), with 15 children participating.
