Revival of a flight with an ultralight seaplane in memory of Lieutenant Demetrios Kamperos, the first Greek Military Aviator (on the route Ormos Palaios
Faliro – N. Hydra – Ormos Palaio Faliro) for the first time after 109 years will be implemented on 28 June. 2021 10:00 in cooperation with the War Museum, the Hellenic Hydroplane Club and the Historical Archive of Hydra Museum.
In the above mentioned context, in the afternoon of the same day at 19:00, a presentation of the book “Dimitrios Kaberos, the Crazy Kaberos, the life of the first Greek Military Aviator” will be held at the Historical Archive of Hydra Museum, by his niece Antigoni Kaberos.

HISTORICAL DATA
This route with the HENRI FARMAN 1912 “DAIDALOS”,
a copy of which is preserved in the War Museum, suitably modified in a seaplane with the help of Professor Dimitrios Chondros of the Technical University of Metsovia, was made by Lieutenant Artillery Dimitrios Kamperos on 24 June. 1912 (where on his return on 25 Jun 1912 he set the world record for seaplane speed with 110 km/h covering the route Hydra – Faliro 37.5 nautical miles in 38 minutes which he maintained for two months).
For the revival of the flight a seaplane of the type
Zenair CH701 of the Hellenic Hydroplane Company. The flight will depart on June 28th from Falirikos Ormos at 10:00 in the morning to the Port of Hydra. The route of the seaplane will be as follows: Faliro, East Aegina, Poros Naval Station, Limonodasos, Karapoliti, Cape Skyline, Hydra. Estimated time of arrival in Hydra 10:40.
His grandfather Dimitrios Kaberos was a native of Hydra (fighter of 1821) and his brother, Notis Kaberos, was a sponsor of the Olympiacos football team.
