An original representation, a diorama, which will be based on the painting by Theodoros P. Vryzakis “The Exodus of Messolonghi”, is expected to decorate the exhibition space of the War Museum in the context of the actions for the celebration of the 200th anniversary of 1821. The diorama (a three-dimensional depiction of 1:1 scale) will occupy an area of about 50 square meters, while there will be a special reference with a column, where the names of the Philhellenes who fought in the name of the vision of the Hellenes’ freedom will be listed.
The President Anastasios Liaskos, the Vice President Lieutenant General Ioannis Theodossoulakis and the Advisor Major General Aristomenis Kragaris stayed for two days in Messolonghi in order to capture details of the historical sites. They met with the Mayor Kostas Lyros, conveying to him the decision of the War Museum to dedicate the main thematic section of its celebrations to the Holy City of Messolonghi and the Exodus. The meeting was also attended by the President of the Cultural Centre Georgios Sotiracopoulos and the General Secretary of the Municipality Christos Daskalopoulos.
