{"id":10724,"date":"2023-12-06T08:48:34","date_gmt":"2023-12-06T08:48:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/warmuseum.gr\/2023\/12\/06\/cooperation-between-the-war-museum-and-the-athens-college-extroversion-through-interdisciplinary-approach-and-exploratory-learning\/"},"modified":"2025-08-29T08:49:33","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T08:49:33","slug":"cooperation-between-the-war-museum-and-the-athens-college-extroversion-through-interdisciplinary-approach-and-exploratory-learning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/warmuseum.gr\/en\/2023\/12\/06\/cooperation-between-the-war-museum-and-the-athens-college-extroversion-through-interdisciplinary-approach-and-exploratory-learning\/","title":{"rendered":"Cooperation between the War Museum and the Athens College &#8220;Extroversion through interdisciplinary approach and exploratory learning&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The recent cooperation between the &#8220;Cultural Body of the Armed Forces&#8221; and this emblematic &#8220;Educational Organization&#8221; was a particular success &#8211; beyond all expectations &#8211; with the massive participation of the College Community and many of its friends.<\/p>\n<p>Focus: the War Museum&#8217;s action &#8216;The MUSEUM goes to School&#8217;, aiming at the acquisition of knowledge and education and especially the cultivation of skills, through an original collaborative group teaching method.<\/p>\n<p>The cooperation of the two institutions was part of the Volunteer Day, but also of the charity &#8220;Christmas Bazaar&#8221; of the Athens College, with the War Museum&#8217;s relics exhibition being combined with interesting parallel virtual reality activities.<\/p>\n<p>And it was literally unprecedented for young and old alike:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>perform a free-fall parachute jump from a helicopter using a virtual reality mask<\/li>\n<li>participate in a pedagogical and innovative game of deciphering World War II Military Messages, using a 1940s communications code<\/li>\n<li>at the same time &#8211; in the framework of the two-day Bazaar &#8211; they had the opportunity to admire the unique exhibits of the War Museum, which was visited by more than a thousand people during these two days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It was an unprecedented &#8220;Programme-Action&#8221; that delighted students and parents alike. The President of the War Museum Anastasios Liaskos and the Director\/President of the Athens College Spyros Pollalis expressed (during their tour of the Exhibition and their participation in the VR action of performing a jump) their absolute satisfaction and their unlimited gratitude to all the participants of this cooperation which at the same time &#8220;defined&#8221;
