The presentation of the Joint Integrated Action Plan for the Development of Military Tourism was successfully completed on Wednesday 17 September at the War Museum of Athens.
The Action Plan is the result of cooperation and coordinated actions of the Joint Coordinating Committee for Military Tourism, which was established in 2024 by a Joint Ministerial Decision of the Ministries of National Defence, Culture and Tourism, following the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2021 between the three Ministries, which also designated the War Museum as the Coordinating and Implementing Agency for the whole action.
The Plan was presented by the Chairman of the Committee, Vice Admiral (I) (ret. Konstantinos Karamesinis, together with its Members.
The event was attended and addressed by the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Athanasios Davakis, the Deputy Minister of Tourism Ms. Anna Karamanli and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture Mr. Georgios Didaskalou, representing the Minister of Culture.
Also present were representatives of the Chiefs of General Staff, local authorities, university professors, members of the Armed Forces and students of military schools.
The event was a milestone for the promotion of the military heritage and the promotion of Greece as a place of memory, history and culture.
