Colonel (PZ) Nikolaos Tamvakas from the book The Greek Expeditionary Corps in Korea (1950-1955) p 164-1The President of the Board of Directors of the War Museum, Anastasios Liasko, thanked and awarded an honorary diploma to Mr. Loukas Tamvakas, son of the late Lieutenant General Nikolaos Tamvakas, for the important contribution of his father’s personal relics to the War Museum.

During the period from April 1952 to January 1953, Nikolaos Tamvakas served as Commander of the Greek Expeditionary Corps in Korea. The HCSE Battalion, under his command, participated in several engagements with the Chinese Army in the summer of 1952, culminating in the Battle of Nori Hill in September of that year.
