The President of the War Museum Anastasios Liaskos met with the Deputy Ambassador of Australia, Andrea Carlo Biggie, and thanked him for the contribution of the Australian people during the War. This was followed by an exchange of views on forthcoming cooperative actions.
The discussion focused on the prospect of creating dioramas that will represent the Battle of Crete. At the same time, the War Museum expressed the will to place the central diorama in the newly established annex of Chania.
The War Museum, moreover, has agreed to contribute material from its photographic archive to the creation of a special Album on the Battle of Crete. The Album will be published on the initiative of the Australian Embassy on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Crete. The two sides reserved the right to create a temporary thematic exhibition at the War Museum next May.
The Vice President, Rear Admiral Ioannis Theodossoulakis attended the discussion and informed the Ambassador about the technical details of the creation of the dioramas.
The visit was concluded with a tour of the Museum by the Ambassador.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
